Berryville, a wonderful community in which to live, work, eat. And visit!
Once THE center for commerce and entertainment – with a full complement of retail stores, hotels and even an Opera House – Berryville still serves as the social hub for the community.
Berryville, like small towns across America, has changed with the times.
There’s a palpable feeling of warmth and friendliness in the air – the delightful upside of small town living. In fact it’s hard to walk down Main without running into locals who’ve spotted a friend and stopped to catch up on the news.
It’s probably why visitors who return often give as their reason: “I just love Berryville.”
Or why a newcomer, who’s been observing the town for a while said: “Berryville is a great town to wake up in. The birds are singing, its beautiful, and everyone is friendly.”
But Berryville offers more than smiling faces to gaze upon. It also boasts a rich variety of architectural styles up – commercial and residential - with many lovingly restored to their former glory by current owners.
And if you’re hungry – no problem. There’s a bumper crop of restaurants from which to choose. Name a cuisine – and you’re likely to find a restaurant to match it.
If you like browsing book stores, the BERRYVILLE OLD BOOK SHOP is for you. It offers a broad selection of titles – with an emphasis on history, the military, and children’s books that draw people from miles away.
And then there are the vintage furniture and antique shops that have started to take hold. RAPTURE, which opened in late 2009 is a growing favorite with locals looking for wicker furniture, fine porcelain or mid-century jewelry to note just a few of the items they carry in this shop.
Think Berryville would be a good place to start or expand a business? You’d be right!
The town and county governments have moved to a new government Center, leaving a number of buildings available for rent in the Main Street area. These spaces are ideal for entrepreneurs, stores offering niche items, or home-based businesses that need more room to grow. Berryville Main Street can help you locate space and offer advice for making the move a success.
As one resident put it recently: “Berryville is experiencing a renaissance.” Discover its many pleasures for yourself today!
